You’re a Terminator
Hello to you, my wonderful readers! It fills me with so much joy to have you here visiting my blog. I hope it can be of support to you. As we continue to face uncertain times ahead, it would be easy to give up on our dreams. But what if I told you that – despite Covid seemingly blocking the way – today is as good a day as any to fulfil your destiny? In this blog, I’d like to explore why the mind never loses. I’ll also unpack why I believe failure is a myth.
The mind always wins
Are you seeking to lead a life of abundance, but still stuck in the same rut months, years or even decades down the line? As someone who’s been there myself, I can promise you’re not alone! Which brings me to my next question; rather than settle for less, have you ever thought to ask yourself why this may be? Who put the idea of failure in front of you, and why can’t you see past it? More often that not, even the smallest chance of failure happening to us is what continues to hold us back. So, where does this invisible force actually come from, and why do I still believe that failure is a myth?
Failure is a myth (hear me out)!
Let’s start with what we define as failure. Put simply, when the success of what the unconscious mind achieves doesn’t line up with what we consciously desire, that is the negative outcome or feeling we happen to ‘experience’. Our version of failure is in fact a failure in instruction, which often boils down to a deep-rooted, long-term malfunction. It’s our mind running on programs we didn’t even sanction (yes, that’s right). That glitch most likely happened long before we even realized it. Let’s think of ourselves as computers for a moment. Figures suggest that, of the 70% of the programs we are running on, 90% of these were given to us or ‘learned’ between the ages of 2 and 7. The mind only runs on the programs we implement, and that’s why the mind never loses – it always wins.
You’ve reached breaking point – but I still say that failure is a myth!
This might feel like the end, but as failure is a myth, I can tell you it’s just the beginning! While some people will continue on that path – whether they’ve consciously chosen it or not – others will hit a crossroads, or what’s often defined as a mid-life crisis. I’ve worked with many clients on this subject now, and they come to me with various problems. Yet they all have the same common goal: to escape everyday life as they know it. Whether that’s buying the shiny sports car, ditching hard-fought careers to travel the world, or leaving their spouse for a new and exciting relationship, my theory remains the same. For all of these years, those individuals were guided by the wrong playbook – which ultimately results in a breakdown.
The reality is that most of us never enter into any conscious relationship with what that journey looks like. While we have little control over the instructions we absorbed as children, it’s not too late to make a change when faced with a fork in the road; we must be conscious of what is going into the mind, so we can have a conscious relationship with what is going out. That way, the wins we are receiving consistently on an unconscious basis match up with the conscious.
Life is one big Schrödinger’s cat
Time, and our perception of it, has a lot to do with how we attribute failure. When we consider the quantum model or the ‘Schrödinger’s cat’ theory, the past and the future don’t exist. All we will ever truly have is the ‘now’. The future we come to experience is tied to the expectation of what’s going to be in it.
I’m a certified instructor of a modality called Reality Transurfing. This practice follows the idea that everything has an advantage to it. When we suffer a knock back or feel like we’ve ‘failed’, our conscious relationship to that experience within the now has the power to transcend the most awful experience to the ‘big biscuit’. Could the journey have been easier? Sure – but it’s often the method of navigating choppy waters – and finding a way to pull us out – that we are able to go on and live our best lives.
COVID-19 is a great example of a recent shared struggle we are all trying to overcome. My clients in Australia, some of whom are in Melbourne, have been living in lockdown for a whole 6 months. They can’t leave their homes, let alone the country, with schools, businesses and everyday life having grinded to a halt. It’s no surprise to hear this has resulted in a mental health crisis. So how can the mind hope to win in this situation? While it’s hard to find any light within such extreme scenarios, it’s through our ability to seek out and commit to that advantage as the basis point for our emotions that will result in our making choices, taking action, and winning at the end of the day.
I had a ‘Jonah and the whale’ experience
My belief that failure is a myth also comes down to my own personal experiences. Once upon a time I had a comfortable life, with no intention of becoming anyone’s guru! I flew first class, had offices in Mayfair, and owned a beautiful home. So, what changed?
My business partner stole my business, and I relocated from Dubai to be with a girl who, in the end, didn’t want the relationship. Yet as everything got ripped away, I came to realize I needed this pause. It was the universe’s way of saying: “Hey Dan, I need to take this away for a moment so you trust me and see that this will all be fine”. In that moment, I got it. It was in February 2018 that I attended a meditation retreat in Santa Fe. There I was shown a vision of my life, and on that day, I committed to that path.
Failure is a myth, but if I go to the beach, I know the sea’s going to be there
For the first 8-9 months I was living off my savings, travelling the world and doing free workshops. But then a friend of mine (who now happens to be my mentor) pulled me aside and explained that by not stepping back into abundance, I was limiting what I could share with the world. It then started to fall into place.
The next month I made $10K within my business, and within a few months that grew to several hundred thousand. I built a 500-strong person email list purely through the work I teach people now, by serving others and touching people’s lives. My focus was on showing up every day, and giving as much value as I could – without worrying about the financial side. I went to the beach of service to find the water was already there. Without the myth of failure holding you back – I hope you can too.
Thank you for reading and I hope that, through understanding why the mind never loses, you can take control of your destiny. If it’s financial abundance you seek, my book ‘Money Game’ provides the tools for ‘money manifesting’ activities, beyond practices like hypnosis and meditation. The process of micro-shifting (in order to change your relationship with the energy of money) will also make you better placed to call it in on demand.
If you enjoyed this, I produce regular Do It With Dan blogs, podcasts and videos. I have three books published now: Stepping Beyond Intention, The Dreamer’s Manifesto and From Time-to-Time (a really great book on time mastery). All of these are here to serve you and make you part of the journey as well.
