Holding Space for Yourself, Within Yourself

When was the last time you just took time to sit in silence and just hold a space of love for yourself?

Hey Everyone,

Another blog for you! This time on the importance of finding space for yourself, within yourself.

What the heck do I mean by that?

Well, ok: let me start with a little personal vulnerability. My week, Monday to Friday, is always incredibly busy. I invest an awful lot in myself, which means I have so many personal development sessions on top of all of the group/one-to-one coaching I do, podcasts, videos etc…

This is by no means a complaint. I wouldn’t have it any other way, from the perspective that: in order to be of maximum service to you, I have to be the best that I can be. That takes work.

But…

I recently found myself suddenly aware of just how afraid of the unknown I was, following on from connecting with the relationship I had with the it.

In other words: it was only recently that I actually sat down and looked at how I was connecting with, and experiencing; the unknown. What I saw was disruptive pockets of fear, that had crept into my life because I hadn’t given myself space or time to witness them. I had not been honouring my need for a space of integration.

I get up at 3:45am every day, in order to get done what I need to get done. Yeah. So I have to enforce moments throughout the day (such as my forced lunch break) to stop and check in. Sometimes it’s a guided meditation, sometimes it’s playing my mind movie, but I stop very deliberately in order to anchor myself.

All well and good, but without taking the time to hold space for yourself, within yourself: there are going to be unchecked areas that can fester. Allowing yourself the space to just sit in silence, consciously hold that space for yourself and allowing things to integrate so that they can become part of your waking experience; is something that hadn’t been doing fully for myself.

This is not to say I never take time to relax. On the contrary; I always have my day off over the weekend, I connect with my loved ones and don’t really do anything. I also take my couple of VIP days regularly. Those of you who’ve followed my teaching will know what I’m talking about there, but basically I pamper myself, go sit by the ocean, get a massage etc…

That’s all restful stuff, but it’s not the whole picture. You need to also take time to really sit with everything you’ve had going on, hold a loving space within you and allow for it all to integrate properly. Otherwise some of it is going to get stuck and start to generate pockets of fear.

This is especially acute in me. As I say; my day is chock full of craziness right from very first thing in the morning. I have so much coming in, that I have to allow myself the space to allow it all to integrate properly.

How many of you lead hectic lives? I’m willing to bet that a lot of you do, whether you’re running companies or trying to keep up with the kids (and run companies as well, in some instances) you have SO much to take in, with so many plates to keep spinning. Then when you do get time for self improvement – only a small percentage of it really gets through, and then before you know it; whatever program or course you’ve been taking is cast aside and filed under “stupid thing doesn’t work anyway”. Well it could just be that, in all the maelstrom of incoming stuff that you have to deal with, you never had the chance to let it in to your physical space!

You have to be present for this to work, which means you’ve got to be in a space conducive to that. No distractions!

What these inputs are, in essence, when they are not fully integrated, are incoherent frequencies. As one of my teachers, Dr. Joe Dispenza says: “coherent frequencies consume incoherent frequencies.” Love is an absolutely coherent frequency. Probably the most coherent there is, and this is what’s so beautiful! Holding that space for yourself, within yourself, while sending yourself love, is all you need to do.

Yup: just by sending the frequency of love to and through yourself, you are switching to a frequency of coherence that will enable all of those stuck, incoherences to become aligned. It will do the work of shifting those disempowering, incoherent frequencies. Sounds woo-woo I know, but trust me: this is backed by robust science.

Ok, don’t trust me, trust the amazing folks over at Heart Speak. Their research has uncovered incredible truths about how we heal ourselves. Some of you may have heard my podcast with the fantastically insightful Dr. Anne Jensen. If not, I encourage you to do so by clicking here, or wherever you get your podcasts from.

So in my case, the incoherent frequency I had was fear of the unknown. It would express itself in different ways, but I didn’t even need to spend time focussing on them, or even the effect that they were having. All I needed to do was hold space for myself, within myself.

You see, consciousness can not be in more than one place at the same time. So if you consciously choose to hold a space of love for yourself, if you choose to exist in a state of love; then everything else must shift. This is not to say that there is anything wrong with those things. Everything is perfect on some level and fear of the unknown has its place, but I choose to be the highest version of myself. I choose to be a fearless version of myself. I choose to be a loving version of myself, because that enables me, ultimately to be of greater service to you all!

The other beauty of this, in my case; is that this shifts the power of whatever is on the other side of the unknown. I know that by holding myself in a state of love, I can be fearless.

A couple of action points for you:

  • Ask yourself: are you doing what you would be doing?
    • If not, why are you not?
  • If you don’t know what to do about that, book a call with me or sign up for my next Five Day Challenge!
  • Most importantly: Find time within your day, to hold space for yourself, within yourself!
    • Just some time that you can spend in silence, in a space of nothing but love, sent towards yourself.

Let Love do all the work!
